Crabs are a big part of the lifestyle in the Burdekin area and throughout North Queensland, and the Barefooted Welder loves fishing them as much as welding scrap metal crabs.

The Barefooted Welder keeps alive the local influences, the ocean, and eccentric Australian nature representing it through scrap metal art sculptures. "These types of builts really hit the mark with Australians' connection to the ocean."

Barry The Crab symbolizes intuitive nature, shyness, defense, perseverance, self-sufficient behavior, and sensitivity. They represent the cyclical nature of life; as you know, crabs dump one shell in exchange for another at some point in their lives.

Barry The Crab was sold but is still today a good friend of The Barefooted Welder.
